Miss at la Playa: The magic of make-up, photography and a good model

The magic of make-up, photography and a good model

Almost every other blog posted about the 17-30 editorial with Anna Selezneva and Eva Herzigova, but this one is so much better.

When I saw the first picture I thought: "Hey, this little girl looks exactly like Eniko..." and then I saw the next photo: "Wait, it IS Eniko!"

The editorial is a series of pictures with the same model in different ages, everything done with amazing make-up and lighting. I wonder how they have made the wrinkles.

De 10 à 60 ans
Vogue Paris November 2008
with Eniko Mihalik by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin
styled by Carine Roitfeld, make-up by Lisa Butler

Remember IT IS THE SAME MODEL on every photo

I love this pic and Eniko's expression. It is like she's really that happy.

What a beautiful shoot and fantastic makeup and/or Photoshopping. I hope this is for aging gracefully, although with the mention of botox has me a little worried (I should really brush up on my French!)

discothequechic said...

it's so clever, and so very realistic. because it's quite hard to pinpoint the changes even though they're very clear.

woooo pretty amazing and also inspiring... the power of make up, photography is just unbelievable!! i remember a photo serie of nowadays actresses transformed into other famouse women (i think there was drew barrymore as jean harlow, etc)

Very nice -- and you can tell it's a French shoot, because 40 and 50 look the hottest. :-) If this had been done in the US, they'd have made 20 look best and had everything else look frumpy. 40 would have had soccer mom hair, and they wouldn't even have bothered to do 60.

France is a confusing place, but they get it right when it comes to stuff like this. :-)

An excellent example of the role of makeup in today's beauty obssessed world. Makes you wonder how much of the glamor and style we adore in the celebrities we routinely worship is due to the art of makeup!

Her skin is always the same "age" ( the initial 'youth' shot is pretexed from a freakish photo-angle and relies upon the model's scrunched shoulders, doh); SVP, it is a Jejeune product Dis- Art. What number of photo attempts were discarded? 250, 1000? A whole day, or 3 hours? Artifice? We observe several soap opera stereotypes. A surface evocation, barely depth, I apologize. We notice a magic from a stylist and make-up man that dazzles us with... some changes in hair, clothing. The biggest boner is the obtuse circle-jerk of comments. The truly turgid turn-off is due to of the heaps of flaccid fanboys, STFU! The rapturous comments evoke a vacuum of discernment here. How can a valid context of fashion be unaware of the early 1980's? Those Fourteen year-old beautiful creatures that were the frosting for so many magazine covers. In conclusion: Esthetics requires care, weeding-out the Graffiti Comments. Because of the the www some of these lipstick Pollyannas shall assist: your deployment of blogspot's free filters to block some flurry of comment spam strewn by Dik4 drive-bys.
